After years of being target practice for elves the Centipede has come back with some new moves. Centipede's revenge plays like the classic Nibbles or Snake type games except in this game you can rotate a full 360 degrees. The goal is to collect all of the mushrooms in the level before you are killed by those mean lil elves.
Game Mechanics
You control your Centipede with the arrow keys. Left and right rotate him, and up is used to start the centipede rolling at the start of each level.The goal of the game is to collect all of the mushrooms laying around the levels in order to move on to the next. The glowing mushrooms give you 10 more health points, and the black ones subtract 5. Beware the black mushroom MUSHROOM!
There are several different enemy types in the game ranging from the little elves to spiders that swing down trying to take a bite out of your hide. The environments are also quite interactive. There are ice slicks that speed you along, boulders rolling across the screen, and tornadoes to be avoided. This game has plenty to do for a Centipede bent on revenge.
My Thoughts
I love it. Very classy. The music fits right in with classic arcade feel. All of the graphics fit perfectly, and the cheesy bright colors are in place to give you the Centipede feel.The amount of spit and polish applied to this game shows through from the first menu until the end. The game has no real depth, though, so don't expect a huge storyline or anything like that. Just good old arcade fun.
