The lag of the explosion is meant to slow the game down, like Ikaruga. It's a nice effect, unless it slows down too much.

Also, what you see in-game is just showing you the current mode you're in (normal or slow), not the difficulty level.

It's not often you get a scrolling shooter that even I can't beat (initially). :P The style reminds me of Kairuga, but the effects seem to give the game a 3D feel. At times I felt like I was playing a bullet hell game for PS2. It really played like a console game too. I've seen this sort of power-up device used before, but I do appreciate it, and the bosses were difficult, yet beatable. And that bubble explosion effect--amazing.

In games like this I like to have a smaller damage area so I can weave more effectively through the bullets. While the speed shift helped at times, I would still prefer less damage area, even if it means more bullets. The ship was just a little too big. The explosion effect, while beautiful, got a little lengthy after a while. That's all I can think of for criticism. 9/10

On second thought, the explosion isn't as bad as I thought it was. It's really the lag at certain points in the game, and part of that is my computer's fault. As for the dodging, the ship seems to be just small enough to get through most gaps. And I really do love the option feature. If I may, I'd like to re-rate this game as 10/10. It really does deserve it.

Found a bug. When you select hard mode, it still says Normal Mode in game, although I think the difficulty still goes up. Incidentally, I beat all three modes. :)
