One of my old projects from 2003 was an isometric city of links to GM websites. It was magic as hell. You can find that site here: http://geocities.com/gmisocity/Well, don't start making a building for that old piece of hamburgers town. I just started a newer, better one. Its better because you can have animation, a lager building, more content, more fun, etc etc etc. http://thegriddle.net/isocity/Feel free to reply here with your buildings or email me at the address on the site. This is FREE TRAFFIC for your site, all you have to do is draw something!

If you have trouble making your gif transparent or something your best bet is to email me and I can convert it for you. Take your time so that it looks pretty and attracts visitors

Umm... Dawg_Man, does that even fit the proper template size? You may want to check up on that. You should add some details too, like some windows or intricate concrete decorations.
Next time let me know you're going to have a huge peaches tower too so I can reserve some spots for that and make sure it'll fit the layout.

I hate to bump, but are you guys still planning on making buildings? I'd like to know if I should keep checking back here.

Bumped to let everyone know of all of the changes.
New layout, some new city areas have been added, the hover text system is fixed, and there is now a library.
Still want more buildings, feel free to make them.

Hey everyone. Sorry for the latest bump in the history of human kind. Lately I have been receiving e-mails asking to add buildings to the city. Now, it's not that I don't care anymore. That's not the case at all. I liked the city idea and had fun implementing it. As a matter of fact, the page is still up at http://www.thegriddle.net/isocity/ even after I cleaned out my server. The problem is that the buildings people send me suck really bad. Since there still seems to be interest in the project, I figured I would give people another chance to submit some buildings and see if the project has potential anymore. Here are some points to consider should you make a building for the city: - The town has 4 neighborhoods. It would be nice if you design your GIF image to fit one of the neighborhoods rather than being an ambiguous blog of architecture.
- Spend some considerable time on your building. If you must, look online for isometric templates and drawing tutorials. An interesting building is far more likely to A: get me to update the site and B: get users to click on it.
- Ask for help on your building, if you must. My AIM is CapnChubby1 or thedreamisle and I also have e-mail, MySpaceIM, IRC, Yahoo, MSN, GTalk, (mostly through Pidgin) and Skype. There are tons of other pixel artists on the community as well.
- Make a building in order to have a cool building, not to just pimp out your website. If you design a cool piece of architecture or land for the city, people will be more likely to want to see what you can do than if you have a gray cube with a black outline and a rotated logo, or similar.
- Don't make a sprite in an editable GM file and send it to me that way. I'm a Linux user now (but I still have tons of friends in this community) and cannot open those files. Just send a GIF please.
- Check this link and do not make crap that will end up here.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. I look forward to seeing any community contributions that stem from this clarification.

How about we rephrase that to the latest worthwile bump ever. Yours was a pointless topic about Michael Jackson. Anyway, that's one of the coolest sites I've seen all year. Great idea, and I'll try to get my site posted when it's finished.

Why did I not see this before, this is a great idea....
I want to make a website just for this (Does it have to be about games or can it be like graphic design for games?)

It can really be a site about anything, or you can make a buildign that links to nothing, or to the GMG, or make other sprites for the city, or whatever.
