Rainbow Sugar Go! is a simple and colourful platform game which revolves around the idea of collecting stuff - certainly not a new idea, but it is pulled off rather nicely.

In this game, you play as a creature who flies using what appear to be his ears. In each one-screen level, you must collect all of the "rainbow sugar" to progress. While the game is not very deep in terms of its concept or its storyline (indeed, regarding the latter, the author simply says to "use your imagination"), the levels are interestingly designed and sometimes quite challenging, and there are a decent number of them, though it's still not a long game. Many of them revolve around what could be called gimmicks - but I think it makes for an interesting playing experience, since no two levels are the same, and so I don't think this is exactly a bad thing. They're small, but the author makes great use of the space he gives himself.

The game engine is decent, though the character seems a little slow and the landings are a little glitchy. Also, while we're mentioning flaws, the game doesn't have a menu or a save mechanism (though it's short enough that the latter isn't too devastating).

The graphics are well-done and fit together well; they're cartoonish and pleasant. I especially like the birds, for some reason. Sound consists of some minimal tinkling as you flap around, collect things, complete levels, or die, which seems like something of a mixture between sound effect and music. It's pleasant, though expendable.

In short, this is a pleasant, fun, and somewhat original playing experience, and I think you'll probably enjoy it, if only a little.
